Required Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s (Master’s will be preferred) in Computer Science/Information Technology is required • Candidates with experience of large-scale machine learning applications or genome sequence data analysis will be given preferences • Enthusiastic to learn new skills as well as to impart them to others • Strong understanding of fundamental statistical concepts and methodologies • Strong command in written and oral English is required • Expertise on data management and administration • Knowledge of sampling techniques, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and linear models for statistical data analysis • Good knowledge on different analytical platforms/tools • Excellent knowledge in different programming languages and Linux-based or Mac OS. • Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint. • Teamwork and collaboration • Organizational awareness • Accountability • Communication • Attentive to details • Problem solving ability, critical thinking, management skill and be able to work independently

Role

• Develop and apply bioinformatics tools to process, analyze, and interpret high throughput datasets, including bacterial and viral genome sequence, and unbiased metagenomic sequence • Apply biological and statistical knowledge to draw rigorous, actionable conclusions form complex data sets. • Conduct analysis that includes acquiring data, defining requirements, processing, analyzing, producing continuing deliverables, and making presentations • Sharing analytical findings for internal and external use in the organization • Collaborate with groups across the institution to support research projects. • Participate in the preparation of written reports and oral presentations summarizing data analysis results, including detailed description of bioinformatics methods, detailed analysis of results, and synthesis of conclusions from summary tables. • Take initiative to acquire new bioinformatics, statistical or programming skills as needed
