About CHRF

Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a nonprofit research organization in Bangladesh working to prevent infections, save lives, and build the next generation of scientists. Our multidisciplinary teams combine population research, hospital and community surveillance, diagnostics, pathogen genomics, and implementation science to generate evidence that informs clinical practice and public health policy. We work with national and international partners and are committed to science led from Bangladesh.

The opportunity

We are currently hiring an Assistant Scientist/Postdoctoral Fellow (Bioinformatics) to join our growing bioinformatics team. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about data, loves solving complex biological questions using computation, and is excited to grow into a future leader of CHRF’s bioinformatics programs.

What You’ll Gain at CHRF

At CHRF, you’ll work at the intersection of genomics, infectious diseases, and public health. As an Assistant Scientist/Postdoctoral Fellow (Bioinformatics), you will:

  1. Be part of an energetic and ambitious team working on bacteria, viruses, and host-pathogen interactions
  2. Contribute to research that shapes national and global understanding of infectious diseases
  3. Take a leading role in the design, implementation, and optimization of bioinformatics pipelines
  4. Work across diverse projects—bacterial genomics, viral outbreaks, single-cell transcriptomics, and even human genetics
  5. Receive mentorship to develop your career as a computational biologist, including support for grant writing, leadership training, and collaborations
  6. Present at national and international conferences, and host talks by scientists you admire
  7. Play a key role in CHRF’s efforts to build sustainable bioinformatics capacity in Bangladesh

Why join CHRF?

Work on research questions with direct relevance to child health in Bangladesh; collaborate across epidemiology, clinical science, laboratory research, and genomics; help build a strong research team; and contribute to evidence that can shape policy and practice.

Location:  Dhaka, Bangladesh

How to apply

Email your CV (maximum 2 pages) and cover letter (maximum 1 page) to hr@chrfbd.org by 28th November, 2026. 4. Knowledge of standard tools for sequence data analysis (e.g., genome assembly, annotation, variant calling, gene expression analysis)
  5. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly across disciplines
  6. Proven track record in scientific writing and publication

Additional skills that would be an advantage

  1. Familiarity with sequencing library preparation and operation of sequencing instruments
  2. Experience with single-cell RNA-seq data analysis
  3. Experience with human genomic data, such as exome or genome sequencing analysis
