Meet Al Amin, a passionate Research Investigator at CHRF!

Along with CHRF’s incredible Phage Team, Al Amin monitors Typhi-specific bacteriophages — viruses that infect bacteria — in the environment. By combining environmental surveillance with clinical data, we are able to have a clearer understanding of the typhoid burden across Bangladesh.

This innovative approach not only offered crucial insights before the rollout of the Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) but continues to help track the disease even after the vaccine’s introduction.
