Last week, we wrapped up the second batch of our 5-day intensive AI in Public Health workshop! This workshop was made possible thanks to support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, through the “Democratizing Public Health Modeling Using AI-based Tools” grant made to CHRF. Over these 5 days, participants delved into various aspects of AI's role in public health, including vaccine impact modeling, disease surveillance, diagnostics, and discussions on ethical considerations.
A big shoutout to our 12 passionate trainees from public, private, and international universities, including:
- Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET)
- Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST)
- University of Dhaka (DU)
- University of Chittagong (CU)
- Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP)
- National University
- American International University - Bangladesh (AIUB)
- University College London (UCL)
- University of Sheffield
Representing a diverse range of professions, from software developers and public health professionals to academic professors, our participants truly showcased the power of collaboration and learning. The workshop featured some challenging assignments, and all trainees submitted outstanding work. Special congratulations to Samrat Kumar Dey for earning the prize with the most accurate results! We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all participants for their remarkable efforts. We’re excited to see how they’ll harness the power of AI to revolutionize public health in Bangladesh and beyond.
