About CHRF

The Child health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to scientific research, advancing scientific knowledge, and promoting science education. CHRF is registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau and was founded in 2007 with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, through research and advocacy. We are an interdisciplinary team composed of scientists, clinicians, epidemiologists, community health workers, statisticians, engineers, and mathematicians, working together on reducing the burden of infectious diseases in children. We conduct epidemiological studies to investigate different infectious diseases, such as typhoid fever, pneumococcal disease, and dengue fever. We also conduct large-scale genome sequencing and generate large genomic datasets on microbial pathogens circulating in Bangladesh. CHRF also offers workshops and courses catered to high school/university students, and young professionals under the “Building Scientists for Bangladesh” initiative. We operate five microbiology laboratories across Bangladesh and collaborate with some of the most prestigious institutions worldwide, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization, National Institutes of Health, Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Imperial College.
