About CHRF

Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to scientific research, advancing scientific knowledge and promoting science education among diverse audiences. CHRF is registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau and was founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group, we operate with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on treatment and prevention of infectious diseases through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute, Dr. MR Khan Shishu hospital, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different international organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control, etc.  

We invite applications for the position of “Junior Study Nurse” to join our Research Team.

Job location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

Required Candidate Profile

  1. BSc or Diploma in Nursing with completed internship training.
  2. Must have a valid BNMC Registration (RA) number.
  3. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in data collection through structured questionnaires.
  4. Strong writing skills in both Bangla and English.

Salary

Negotiable (depending on the experience and/or qualifications of the candidate)

Role

  1. Conduct assessment of children less than five years of age to determine eligibility for enrolment in a research study
  2. Obtain parent’s consent for enrolment in the study
  3. Conduct daily follow-up of enrolled babies at the hospitals as per protocol
  4. Collect demographic, vaccination and clinical information using structured questionnaire
  5. Collect nasopharyngeal specimens from the enrolled cases
  6. Ensure that SOP is followed at each of the activities
  7. Regularly share the progress and challenges with project coordinators and investigators
  8. Liaise and coordinate with other study & lab personnel
