About CHRF
The Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to scientific research, advancing scientific knowledge and promoting science education among diverse audiences. CHRF is registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau and was founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group, we operate with the core mission to improve child heath by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute, Dr. M R Khan Shishu hospital & Institute of Child Health, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different organizations like World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), etc.
We invite applications for the position of “Medical officer’’ to Join our Research team.
Job location: Dhaka, Mirzapur, Bangladesh.

- MBBS degree from a Medical College recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) with completion of internship training and with a good academic record.
- Must have a valid BMDC registration number.
- Post Graduate training in Pediatrics will give preferences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Bangla and English are preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be enthusiastic to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and be willing to take initiative accordingly.
Dependent on the experience and/or qualifications of the candidate. Additional benefits include a contributory provident fund, festival allowance (Eid/Puja/Christmas and Baishakhi), and a two-day weekend.
- Assesses the physical condition of the admitted children to determine eligibility for enrolment in a surveillance study.
- Obtain legal guardian’s consent for participation in a study.
- Collect demographic, EPI vaccination and clinical information of admitted children using structured questionnaires.
- Conduct daily follow up of enrolled/Eligible babies at the hospitals as per study protocol.
- Ensure that SOP is followed at each and every step of study activities.
- Regularly sharing the progress and challenges at work with his/her supervisor
